Four Athenian lovers run into a wood where Oberon and Titania are quarrelling, and Puck's misapplied love-juice crosses every pairing before morning. A company of tradesmen rehearse a play in the same wood, and Bottom passes the night with an ass's head and the fairy queen doting on him. Nine scenes across five acts.
