Luther's 1520 treatise, written to answer the charge that faith alone leaves no room for good works, translated by W. A. Lambert. After a letter of dedication to Duke John of Saxony he takes the Ten Commandments in order, arguing that ordinary obedience done in faith outranks the pilgrimages and endowments his contemporaries prized.
