John Munro's 1891 account of the men who built electrical communication, written as a sequel to his Pioneers of Electricity. Chapters on Wheatstone, Morse, William Thomson, Siemens, Reis, Bell, Edison and Hughes combine biography with plain explanations of the instruments, at a point when the telephone was still new.
