Robinson's 1897 collection in its 1905 printing, the book that introduced Richard Cory, Luke Havergal, Cliff Klingenhagen and the Tilbury Town portraits. Fifty-seven poems, mostly short sonnets and character sketches of townspeople seen from the outside, with the long dramatic monologue The Night Before at their centre and the twenty-five sections of Octaves near the end.
